AGS - Analysis Ground Station
Data analysis systems

The AGS is a comprehensive flight operations monitoring system for FOQA applications, processing and analyzing all available data from aircraft recorders and producing user-configurable, customized reports. It can help detect irregular or divergent practices, technical flaws or potential problems that might develop from operating outside of normal procedures.

The AGS also provides critical information to improve the efficiency of pilot training programs.

Leading features for FOQA AGS applications

Exceedence analysis and incident/accident investigation

• Integrated 3-D flight animation (optional)

• Automatic flight efficiency monitoring

• Periodic statistics reports and analysis

• Interfaces for dedicated expert applications

FOQA monitoring is based on a flight analysis standard named CAPS (Common Airlines Procedure Set) that Sagem Défense Sécurité defined in collaboration with airlines flight analysis experts and aviation authorities. The CAPS is not a fixed standard; it takes into account customer feedback and suggestions.

The AGS also provides extensive engineering features to help reduce operating cost through more efficient and preventive maintenance actions. AGS provides MOQA applications for monitoring, tracking and also documentation of engineering- and maintenancerelated conditions on the aircraft.

Leading features for MOQA AGS applications

• Procedure for monitoring reduced fuel consumption

• Recoding-quality management

• Automatic event detection

• Exceedence analysis and troubleshooting

• Interfaces for engine trend monitoring software (SAGE, COMPASS, EHM, etc)

• Interfaces for aircraft performance monitoring software (Boeing APM, Airbus APM, etc)

The AGS benefits from the expertise of SNECMA (SAFRAN Group) – the world-renowned engine manufacturer – for the implementation of ‘health’ monitoring features, such as basic engine performance monitoring, fleet history, alerting and reporting.

AGS provides three types of analyses: automatic, statistical and manual.

Automatic analysis

This analysis processes all available data from aircraft recorders and provides customized reports. Systematic re-reading of recorded data minimizes repetitive daily tasks. The analysis report displays events with classification levels and updates the flight and event database.

Statistical analysis

All events detected in the course of an automatic analysis are stored in the AGS database for statistical analysis. Users can then produce pre-defined reports or define new ones to detect patterns and trends. Reports can be automatically edited, published and exported in various formats, including html and e-mail.

Manual and on-event analysis

AGS includes all the necessary tools for accurate investigations of any flight. The manual analysis displays engineering values in several formats: tables, curves, graphic charts and generic cockpit instrument representation.

Fast and user-friendly system

Extremely powerful, the AGS manages large volumes and a wide variety of data. Through ‘full media management’, the system monitors media quality while controlling the entire data flow.

The whole process requires less than three seconds per flight hour. The AGS is designed for PC and Windows environments.

The complete system is integrated into a unique program with a standardized and homogeneous user interface. Management of a unique product provides the most cost-effective and best support: all customers work with the same version and benefit from new versions (upgrade installation is easy).

Customizable and turnkey system

The AGS is a plug–and-play system. All required components are integrated into the system, which provides the following:

• Decoding frames for aircraft parameter conversion into engineering units

• Procedure sets for the customer fleet and flight operation and engineering maintenance analysis

• Predefined statistical reports for periodic analysis of fleet activity

Thanks to the AGS’s modular architecture, it can be used by all carriers. It is designed to support any aircraft and flight data recorders.

Extension

The AGS is provided with an access security device. Only defined users can have access to pre-defined software functions.

In addition, the AGS can generate a 3D-animated flight analysis, which must be examined using the manual analysis. This animated sequence is directly interfaced with a bundle for 2D and 3D trajectory representation.
