Sagem Avionics, Inc. of Grand Prairie, Texas, is happy to announce FAA certification of the Integrated Cockpit Display System, ICDS-8, on the Eurocopter EC-120 model helicopter. The display package includes a Sagem’s 8.4 inch active matrix liquid crystal display with bezel mounted soft-key controls. In the two display configuration the crew can choose between a primary flight display (PFD) with aircraft attitude, airspeed, altitude, and navigational information, or a full-page multi-function display (MFD) that features a moving map display with terrain and man-made obstacles as well as flight plan, airport data, airspace depictions, and checklist information. The display format may be switched between PFD and MFD via a panel mounted selector switch. An optional rotary knob control panel with up to four push and turn knobs can be added for ease of pilot inputs to the primary flight display (PFD).
