Sagem Avionics, Inc. of
Grand Prairie, Texas is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Sagem
Defense and Security part of the SAFRAN Group. Sagem Avionics,
Inc. was originally incorporated in 1989 as SFIM, Inc. The
parent corporation of SFIM, Inc. was acquired by Sagem SA in
1999 SFIM, Inc. officially changed the company name Sagem
Avionics, Inc. in 2004.
The company expanded the aerospace product line in 2004 with the
purchase of ARNAV of Puyallup, Washington. This acquisition
enabled the company to add integrated cockpit displays and
satellite communications to its already extensive aerospace
product suites along with a U.S. based R & D and production
facility.
From its Grand Prairie facility located just 15 minutes south of
Dallas - Fort-Worth Airport, Sagem Avionics is able to provide
technical support, MRO services, and marketing and sales of
commercial aerospace products. The product line for service and
sales encompasses a wide range of commercial aircraft
applications that include helicopter autopilot systems, airplane
and helicopter flight control components, and aircraft condition
and monitoring systems, flight operations quality assurance
software, and satellite communications for aircraft
applications. The company is the authorized repair and overhaul
center for SFIM, ARNAV, AVIAC, and SAGEM label commercial
aerospace components.
